1. Accordly and your legal services
Accordly is an online family law service. This workspace helps you provide information for your consent-order application and work with your Accordly family lawyer. The legal practice providing your services is identified in your accepted Costs Disclosure and Costs Agreement and the Accordly website Terms of Service.
- Your accepted agreement sets out the legal-service scope, fees, responsibilities and how the engagement may end. These public terms do not replace or amend an agreement you have already accepted or reduce your rights under that agreement or the law.
- General guidance and question wording in this app are information only and do not replace legal advice from your Accordly family lawyer.
- Nothing is filed with a court merely by using this app. Wait for your lawyer's final documents and signing instructions. Your lawyer will explain which documents need signing and whether a witness is required. Follow those instructions; Accordly then files the application for you within the agreed scope.
- Accordly acts for the client identified in the accepted agreement, not both former partners. Your former partner may need their own legal advice.
2. Your responsibilities
- Provide information that is true, complete and up to date. The application you file is a sworn court document; accuracy is your responsibility.
- Consent orders require full and frank financial disclosure by both parties. The app helps you organise your disclosure; it cannot know what you leave out.
- Review your answers and any draft documents your lawyer provides, including annexure pages, and raise anything that looks wrong.
- Keep your device and account secure. Draft answers may remain in your browser and, for an account-linked matter, also be saved to your account. See our Privacy Policy for details.
3. Guided pathway and other family law enquiries
The guided consent-order pathway is for suitable Western Australian matters where separating couples have reached agreement and can safely participate. It is not an emergency service or a pathway for urgent matters or immediate risks to a person or property. Contact 000 in an emergency.
Traditional family law enquiries are welcome from across Australia, subject to assessment and acceptance. That work has separately agreed scope and fees. Submitting an enquiry or completing a form does not itself create a legal engagement.
4. Fees, payment and ending your engagement
Your accepted agreement governs the agreed scope, fees, disbursements, additional work and termination of your engagement. Any additional work requires scope and fees agreed separately in writing. Payments are processed by Stripe. Refunds, including the treatment of non-refundable Stripe processing fees where applicable, are governed by your accepted agreement and applicable law. Nothing in these public terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other rights that cannot be excluded.
5. Intellectual property
The software, question flows and generated document formatting are Accordly's. Your answers and your completed application are yours.
6. Court outcomes and your rights
Your Accordly family lawyer provides legal services under your accepted agreement. The court decides whether to make consent orders; court approval and any particular outcome are not guaranteed. Nothing in these public terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
7. General
These public terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia. Updates to these public terms do not amend any agreement you have already accepted. Questions: hello@accordly.com.au.
